Our sacred cacao ceremony

A cacao ceremony is a heart-opening ritual that uses ceremonial-grade cacao to foster emotional healing, spiritual connection, and inner reflection.

Rooted in ancient Mesoamerican traditions, it’s now embraced globally as a mindful, transformative experience and you can experience it at the Selkie Soul Festival Launch party. Originating with the Maya and Aztec civilizations, cacao was considered sacred and used in spiritual rituals and offerings. At one time it was treated like gold and used as a currency and it was only the men who were allowed to drink it.

What will happen at the Selkie Soul Festival Cacao Ceremony?

People enjoying cacao ceremony

cacao— is a minimally processed form of cacao and we will prepare the cacao using a sacred blessing. At Selkie Soul Festival we will hold the space with a meditation as we set our intention and drink our cacao. Cacao is believed to gently stimulate the heart and enhance emotional openness, making it easier to connect with oneself and others.

Move, Merge, Melt

Cacao ceremony

We’ll gently transition into movement, beginning with grounding tribal rhythms that awaken the body and spirit. As the energy builds, we’ll then flow into a sound bath, where the vibrations will harmonise with the cacao’s essence—allowing its energies to merge with the healing frequencies and guide us into a state of deep serenity and divine alignment.
